Danny learns his father?s secret to poaching pheasants. One day, Danny wakes up early in the morning to find his father missing. He locates him in a pit-trap in Hazell?s Wood, where he fell and broke his ankle. Danny brings William home to be treated. While he is recovering they hear of Hazell?s annual pheasant poaching party, to which Hazell invites the most prestigious of guests, and hatch a mischievous and daring plan to ruin it. They will poach all the pheasant?s from Mr. Hazell?s estate, leaving none for the poaching party.
